Suseong-gu, Deagu has held a video conference with Karlsruhe, Germany where is one of friendly cities at 4PM on 17th for discussing the new ways of international exchange due to the global spread of Covid-19.

Karlsruhe has three hundred thousand citizens at the Southwest side in Germany, and has located Badisches Staatstheather with a historic background, several machineries of law like the constitutional court in Germany, and some research institutions like National Institute of Nuclear Physics. Khalsruhe is the city of culture, art and advanced technology and skills where is well known for Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with great competitive in technology.

The Interchange with Karlsruhe had started from February, 2019when Dr. Albert Käuflein ,who is a deputy mayor, visited Suseong district the time when German Karlsruhe National Ballet Team’s ‘Carmina Burana’ performance in Suseong Artpia. On July in 2019, for the return visit 16 people of Suseong-gu’s deputation went to Karlsruhe and has driven to interchange in diverse fields such as culture, Art and so on.
 
At this time, the conference held through the internet. Kim Deakwon who is the chief of the the Suseong district office, a head of Suseong Artpia, a leader of planning and finance office, a leader of safety department, and a leader of jobs and economics department have participated in the meeting with Albert Käuflein, deputy mayor of Karlsruhe.

The conference started with promotional videos of each city, then there was a time to announce how to deal with Covid-19 and their experience of it , indeed, shared opinions about local autonomy forum giving invitations to members of friendship cities’s assembly and had discussion about role of local autonomy and assembly.

Momyeongjae Korean Traditional Cultural Experience Center ( tea ceremony, meditation, and Dong-uibogam food experience), Suseong lake, Suseong artpia, Yeongnam Jeilgwan have been introduced and Suseong district’s relatives proposed to make tourism programs and discussed about activation of culture, art, and sports through interaction setting online video platforms to communicate among local artists, competition with local Taekwondo team or members, and sharing skills for the trainee.

The city of education, Suseong-gu also mentioned that is willing to have exchanged students with Gymnasium students in Germany.
