<송지은>
송지은(Jeeun Song-Dusoir)은 서울대학교와 도쿄대학교에서 건축을 공부했다. 일본에서 자연과 건축 환경의 관계에 대한 관심이 생겼고, 이는 이후 하버드에서 조경학 석사 학위를 취득하게 된 계기가 되었다. 그 후 Stimson과 SOM에서 근무하였으며, 이어 영국 왕립식물원 Kew에서 원예학 디플로마를 취득했다. 그 이후로 로리 드수아르와 함께, 혹은 SOM 런던 지사에서 다양한 규모의 프로젝트를 수행하며 Ravensbourne University에서 강의도 병행하고 있다.
<로리 듀수아르>
로리 듀수아르(Rory Dusoir)는 옥스퍼드 대학 Balliol College에서 고전을 공부하면서 원예를 추구하기로 결심했다. 이후 Great Dixter에서 근무한 뒤 Kew에서 디플로마를 취득하였고 Hampton Court Palace의 Howe Mill과 Stud House에서 수석 정원사로 근무하며 자신만의 독창적인 식재 스타일을 개발하였다. 또한 Daily Telegraph, RHS Garden Magazine, Gardens Illustrated 등에 글을 기고했으며, 두 권의 책(Plant User Handbook, Roses: A Celebration)에 참여했다. 2019년에는 Hauser & Wirth를 위해 Piet Oudolf의 작업을 다룬 책을 출간했다. 그는 English Gardening School, West Dean College, Kew Gardens, North Hill Symposium(미국) 등에서 강연을 했으며, 2022년에는 Chollipo Arboretum에도 초청되어 강연했다.
두 작가가 몸담고 있는 회사(Kennedy Song Dusoir)는 조경, 식재, 건축에 대한 지식을 결합한 통합적 사고를 중요하게 생각한다. 식재 스타일은 자연스러우면서도 계절별 변화에 주의를 기울인 것이 특징이며, 자연 서식지에서의 식물 조합에 큰 영향을 받았다.
<Jeeun Song-Dusoir>
Jeeun Song-Dusoir studied architecture at Seoul National University and the University of Tokyo. An interest in the relationship between nature and the built environment was born in Japan, and this led to a Masters in Landscape Architecture at Harvard followed by stints at Stimson and SOM. She then achieved a Diploma in Horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. Since then she has been working at many different scales, both with Rory Dusoir and for SOM London, combined with teaching at Ravensbourne University.
<Rory Dusoir>
Rory Dusoir decided to pursue horticulture while studying classics at Balliol, Oxford. He then worked at Great Dixter prior to the Kew Diploma. He has been head gardener at Howe Mill and Stud House at Hampton Court Palace. During this time he had freedom to develop his own distinctive planting style. He has written for the Daily Telegraph, RHS Garden Magazine and Gardens Illustrated, and has contributed to two books: Plant User Handbook and Roses: A Celebration. His book on Piet Oudolf’s work for Hauser & Wirth was published in 2019. He has lectured at the English Gardening School, West Dean College, Kew Gardens, and the North Hill Symposium, USA. He was also invited to speak at Chollipo Arboretum in 2022.
The practice is committed to joined-up thinking and combining knowledge of landscape, planting, and architecture. The planting style is naturalistic with keen attention to succession and influenced heavily by plant combinations occurring in natural habitats.
