stpmj(에스티피엠제이)는 아이디어 기반의 설계사무소다. ‘도발적 현실주의’라는 비전 아래 일상에서의 근본적 아이디어를 새로운 시각으로 해석하여 주거, 문화, 상업 시설 등에 적용하고 있다. 동시에 공공예술, 전시, 설치 작업을 통하여 건축의 경계를 탄력적으로 넓히는 실험을 하고 있다. 뉴욕 젊은 건축가상(2012), 뉴욕 신진 건축가상(2016), 한국 젊은 건축가상(2016), 김수근 프리뷰상(2016), Desgin Vanguard (2017), 건축문화대상(2019), 뉴욕 디자인 어워드(2020, 2019, 2017), 서울시 건축상 (2021) 등을 수상했다.
이승택은 고려대학교와 하버드 GSD에서, 임미정은 연세대학교, RISD, 하버드 GSD에서 학위를 취득하였고 각각 국민대학교 건축대학 겸임교수, 홍익대학교 건축도시대학 부교수로 재직중이다.
stpmj is an idea-driven design practice. Under the vision of “Provocative Realism,” the firm reinterprets fundamental ideas from everyday life through a new lens, applying them to residential, cultural, and commercial projects. At the same time, it experiments with the elasticity of architecture’s boundaries through public art, exhibitions, and installations. The studio has received numerous honors, including the New York Young Architects Award (2012), AIANY New Practices New York (2016), the Korean Young Architect Award (2016), the Kim Swoo Geun Preview Award (2016), Design Vanguard (2017), Korea Architecture Culture Award (2019), New York Design Awards (2020, 2019, 2017), and the Seoul Architecture Award (2021).
Seungtaek Lee received his degrees from Korea University and Harvard GSD, and is currently an adjunct professor at Kookmin University. Mijeong Lim holds degrees from Yonsei University, RISD, and Harvard GSD, and is currently an associate professor at Hongik University’s School of Architecture and Urban Design.
