최신현은 영남대학교와 홍익대학교에서 조경학과 환경설계학을 전공하고 서울시립대학교에서 박사학위를 수료하였다. 조경기술사로서 가야조경, (주)우대기술단에서 다년간의 경력을 쌓은 뒤 현재 (주)씨토포스의 대표이사, 서울시 도시공원 위원회 위원으로 활동하고 있다. 미국 조경가협회 ASLA에서 서서울호수공원(2007)으로 Professional Awards General Design Category의 Honor Awards(2011) 수상하였고, 국회대로 상부공원(2020), 동탄2신도시 워터프론트 콤플렉스(2010), 북서울 꿈의 숲 조성 마스터플랜(2008) 등 다수의 국제현상공모 당선 및 설계를 하였다.자연을 가치롭게 여기며, 자연과의 소통을 중요시 여겨 공간의 가치를 높이고 시간이 갈수록 좋아지는 디자인을 하되 기존 대지가 가진 삶의 이야기와 흙, 물, 빛, 바람을 토대로 땅을 이해하고 땅과 호흡하며 땅이 원하는 디자인을 한다. 결국 땅의 가치를 높여주는 디자인을 하는 조경건축가이다.
Choi ShinHyun studied landscape architecture and environmental design at Youngnam University and Hong University, and received his Ph.D. from Seoul National University. After many years of experience as a landscape architect at Gaya Landscape and WooDae Technology, he is currently the CEO of Ctophos and a member of the Seoul City Parks Committee. He received Honor Awards in the Professional Awards General Design Category from the American Society of Landscape Architects ASLA (2011) as The West Seoul Lake Park(2007) and has won and designed a number of international competitions, including the Gukhoe-daero Upper Park (2020), Dongtan 2 New City Waterfront Complex (2010), and the North Seoul Dream Forest Master Plan (2008).Choi ShinHyun values nature deeply, emphasizing a strong connection with the natural world to enhance the value of space and create designs that improve over time. He aligns with the land, drawing inspiration from its history and elements like soil, water, light, and wind. As a landscape architect, his identity is defined by his commitment to elevating land value through thoughtful, sustainable designs.
