김봉찬은 생태학적 지식을 바탕으로 자연의 원리인 서식처 기반 정원을 만드는데 정평이 나 있는 국내 최고의 자연주의 조경가이다. 정원을 통해 자연에서 얻는 배움과 감동을 많은 이들과 교감하기 원하며, 정원문화 발전을 통해 건강한 사회를 이루고자 하는 꿈을 실천해가고 있다. 저서로는 『자연에서 배우는 정원』과 『베케, 일곱 계절을 품은 아홉 정원』이 있으며, 대표작으로 포천 평강식물원, 곤지암 화담숲 암석원, 제주 핀크스 비오토피아 생태공원, 서울 아모레 성수가든, 남산 피크닉 정원 등이 있다.
Kim Bongchan is one of Korea's leading naturalistic landscape architects, known for creating habitat-based gardens based on nature's principles and ecological knowledge.
