김현종은 프랑스 파리 École Spéciale d’Architecture(ESA)에서 건축과 학사와 석사 학위를 받은 후, 2018년 서울에 아뜰리에 케이에이치제이 (ATELIER KHJ)를 개소했다. 도시 문화와 건축, 인테리어, 가구, 예술 등 경계를 나누지 않고 여러 분야의 문화적 가치를 고민하며, 재료와 물질에 대한 궁금증을 끊임없는 연구를 통해 재해석하고자 한다. 대표 작업으로 프레즌트 퍼펙트 (Present Perfect), 점점점점점점 등이 있다. <젊은 모색 2023: 미술관을 위한 주석>(국립현대미술관 과천, 2023), <서울마루 공공개입 2022> (서울도시건축전시관, 2022), <바닥, 디디어 오르다> (아름지기 사옥, 2020), <돈의문이 열려있다> (돈의문박물관마을, 2018) 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여했다. 연작 전시 <빌딩(BUILDING)>을 꾸준히 이어가고 있으며, 서울시립대학교 도시공학과에 출강 중이다.
Kim Hyunjong (b. 1983) received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Architecture from the École Spéciale d’Architecture Paris. After many years of experience abroad, Kim established ATELIER KHJ in Seoul in 2018. He contemplates the various cultural values without boundaries of city culture and architecture, interior, furniture, and arts and constantly delves into his curiosity in materials to reinterpret them into his own. His main works include Present Perfect and Jumjumjumjumjumjum and he has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Young Korean Artists 2023: Annotating the Museum (National Museum of modern and Contemporary Art Gwacheon, 2023), Seoul Maru Project Public Intervention (Seoul Hall of Urbanism & Architecture, 2022), Stepping on the Ground, the Floor Is Raised (Arumjigi, 2020), Donuimun is Open (Donuimun Museum Village, 2018) and more. Kim continues to show his works in the serial exhibition BUILDING. Currently, he is a lecturer at the University of Seoul
