로랑 페레이라는 벨기에에서 태어났다.
브뤼셀 생뤽건축대학(Institut Supérieur d'Architecture Saint-Luc)을 졸업한 로랑 페레이라(Laurent Pereira)는 파리 아뜰리에 장 누벨(Atelier Jean Nouvel)에서 건축 실무를 거쳐 2005년 한국으로 건너왔다.
서울에서 건축설계를 가르치던 그는 채송희와 함께 채페레이아건축사사무소를 공동 창립했으며, 2009년 서울시 주택건축디자인상, 2009년 젊은건축가상, 2009년 엄독문건축상 등 여러 상을 수상했다. BBC가 선정한 '2014년 최고의 건축물'로 선정된 장욱진미술관은 2014년 한국건축학회상, 김수근상을 수상했다. 2016년 그리고 2018년에 베니스비엔날레 한국관에도 참여했다.
그는 2017년부터 2022년까지 서울대학교에서 건축디자인을 가르쳤으며, 현재는 파리 건축전문학교에서 강의하고 있다.
Born in Belgium and a graduate of the Institut Supérieur d'Architecture Saint-Luc in Brussels, Laurent Pereira practiced architecture at Ateliers Jean Nouvel in Paris before moving to Korea in 2005.
While teaching architectural design in Seoul, he co-founded Chae-Pereira Architects with Chae Songhee, a practice that has won several awards including the 2009 City of Seoul Architectural Design Prize for Housing, the 2009 Young Architects Awards and the 2009 Oem Dokmun Architecture Prize. The Chang Ucchin Museum, which was shortlisted by the BBC as one of the "Best Buildings of 2014", received the Korean Institute of Architecture Award and the Kim Swoogeun Award in 2014. He also participated in the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2016 and 2018.
From 2017 to 2022, he taught architectural design at Seoul National University and currently at the Ecole spéciale d'architecture in Paris.
