UAM Flight Test in Daegu

Suseong-gu, Daegu announced that on 16th at Suseongmot lake had tested UAM (Urban Air Mobility) flight to utilize drone taxi service. It’s realization now that ‘flying car’ in movies.
 
It was the first time to have a test flight as a provincial city where held in Suseongmot lake which is famous attraction to visit billions people every year. It has successfully landed after 7 minutes flying through the lake with 10m/s taking off from Sanghwadongsan at 30meter altitude. Test flight in Seoul was circling around with drawing 2 big circle along Han-river. Despite of it, flight at Suseongmot lake described the characteristics of drone taxi to drive straight and suddenly changed the way 180 degrees which cannot be possible by helicopter or airplane.

Suseong-gu has cooperated conjunctly with Daegu city making a TF team from November to proof UAM. They made authorities, Seoul city, events related with UAM recognize about test flight in Daegu having validity, logicality and effectivity to inform door-to-door.
  

New Culture Contents, Drone-tainment.
Suseong-gu has plans to create drone art show harmonizing of lights from hundreds of drones, music, media art, foundation on the sky at the Suseongmot lake. Every year by presenting regular performances and do better, it could be the key contents to make Suseongmot lake as an travel attraction.

Set the Base of Industrialization of UAM

UAM industry will be the new way to develop our future market to have effects like making 160 thousand jobs in local, 23 trillion of production inducement, 11 trillion of value added inducement.

Based on this test flight, Suseong district is also about to set up the base of urban test site like a sustainable business plan that was suggested in ‘Suseong-gu Future City Plan’.

 
Most of all Green Drone service is alternative of cable car and mono-rail that have issues about a drain on the environment. It has a goal to make a business model to transport items, travelers, and the weak from Suseongmot lake to Youngjibong helipad. Indeed it’s also possible to develop extra routes gradually having its roots in Suseongmot lake. 

In the mid-long term, it will push ahead with the way to build sky port to utilize drone taxi service as soon as possible. As an airport is the center of the development in airline industry, a sky port will be the center of UAM.

Sky port means a terminal for drone taxi to land and depart. There is a designing an local landmark to develop as a multiplex to be possible to transfer, shop, travel, and have business. Port site needs to be examined regard of necessary conditions such as flying routes through the river or highway, accessibility of users, connectivity of public transportation, budget, and so on. Driving this plan is training manpower, attracting companies involved, studying about controlling, recharging with ICT companies at Suseong Alpha City.  
 

Suseong district has reviewed ways that the major industry in Daegu which is machinery, industry of automobile parts to change to airline industry like UAM, automatic driving which is future transportation. Also they keep discussing with Gyeongsan city currently building cooperative economy area.
