Opened on May 1, 2007, as an art center to represent the district of Suseong-gu, Suseong Artpia operates educational programs that help visitors appreciate various types of art. Its exterior resembles the outline of the nearby Muhaksan Mountain. Seen from the front, Suseong Artpia looks like a crane unfolding its wings to take flight, but when seen from the side, it resembles a ship, which was intentionally incorporated into the design to commemorate the large body of water that once existed in the area where the art center is located.
