Last 6th of June, There was a memorial event to pay respects for the 65th Memorial Day from Suseong-gu,Daegu (Head of suseong district named Daekwon, Kim).

During the event, we have honored patriotic martyrs for the country, and offered our sympathy to Colonel Nayar who sacrifice himself to give freedom in the far country.

Colonel Nayar who was a Indian representative of United Nations Commission on Korea during the Korean War has passes away due to landmine nearby Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun, Gyeongbuk in 12th of August, 1950 when the Great Nakdong offensive has been cut-throat.

After building a monument at the place which laid his body in state in 7th of December,1950, Suseong district office has cared its surroundings to do repair work in 1996, and worship the monument every Memorial Day with citizens and students.

Daekwon, Kim who is head of Suseong district office mentioned, “It is so meaningful that the Coronel Nayar’s monument placed in Suseong-gu who was bravely simpleminded and honest.” also said, “We will try our bests to remind his sacrifice constantly in the future as well.”
